Publication History, Volume Continuity, and Platform Migration Notice
Creative Saplings was founded in 2007 by the Society for Academic Facilitation and Extension (Regd.), Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, India. In the year of its founding, the journal commenced the collection and peer review of scholarly articles in the field of English language and literature. The Online ISSN 0974-536X was assigned to the journal by ISSN India (the National Centre for ISSN, New Delhi, operating under the authority of the International ISSN Network, Paris) in 2007, formally registering the journal as a serial publication.
Important Distinction: Starting Year (2007) = Year of formal establishment, ISSN registration, and commencement of the editorial and paper-collection process.
First Publication Year (2008) = Year in which Volume 1 (the first peer-reviewed annual issue) was published and disseminated.
This distinction is standard in serial publishing practice and is fully consistent with ISSN Network conventions for recording a journal's founding year. The journal published on an annual frequency — one peer-reviewed issue per calendar year — from 2008 through 2021, constituting its first phase of operation. This annual model was maintained consistently, subject to the technical disruptions described in Section 3 below. Technical Disruptions: Data Loss and Website Dysfunction (2011–2021)Over the course of its first phase of operation on its original website platform, Creative Saplings experienced a series of technical failures resulting in partial data loss and periods of website dysfunction. These events were beyond the editorial team's control and were attributable to server failure, hosting discontinuity, and the limitations of the journal's original digital infrastructure, which predated the adoption of the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform.
The missing years listed below do not represent years in which the journal ceased publication. Editorial production and distribution to subscribers occurred in those years. The digital records of those issues were subsequently lost due to technical platform failure. The editorial board acknowledges these gaps with full transparency and is actively working to recover and re-archive affected issues.

Platform Migration and OJS Relaunch (April 2022) In recognition of the limitations of its original website platform and in order to ensure long-term digital preservation, DOI assignment, enhanced international visibility, and streamlined editorial management, Creative Saplings undertook a full platform migration in 2022. The journal was relaunched on the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform — the international standard for open-access academic journal publishing, developed by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP) — with effect from April 2022. The migration was accompanied by a formal change of publication frequency, from Annual to Monthly. This change was made with the explicit knowledge and formal permission of ISSN India, the National ISSN Centre, which was notified of the frequency change in accordance with standard ISSN maintenance procedures. The ISSN 0974-536X has remained uninterrupted and unchanged throughout, confirming the journal's continuous identity across both publication phases. Volume numbering restarted at Volume 1 (2022) to reflect the new platform and monthly publication cycle. This decision was taken for bibliographic clarity and is disclosed transparently. It does not represent a break in the journal's intellectual or institutional continuity, which remains uninterrupted since 2007. Since the OJS relaunch in April 2022, Creative Saplings has published every scheduled monthly issue without interruption or gap. This unbroken record of regular, on-schedule publication spanning more than three years demonstrates the journal's current operational reliability and its commitment to the standards required by DOAJ and Web of Science. All OJS-era issues are permanently archived through LOCKSS, PKP PLN, and Archive-It, and every article carries a registered DOI (prefix: 10.56062).
