Author Biography

  • Nilofar Akhtar, Professor of English, MB GOVT PG College, Haldwani- Nainital.

    Dr. Nilofar Akhtar has been serving as the Chair of the Department of English at MB Government P.G. College since 2021. With over two decades of experience, she has been actively involved in supervising research and teaching PhD coursework, as well as postgraduate and undergraduate classes. Beyond her departmental responsibilities, she has contributed to curriculum development for the Uttarakhand Adhinastha Shiksha Seva Aayog.

    Dr. Akhtar has held several academic and administrative roles, including Editorial Board Member for the college magazine, Secretary of the Eco Club, and member of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). She has organized academic seminars, invited talks, and has frequently been invited as a keynote speaker and resource person for seminars, workshops, and pre-PhD coursework sessions.

    Her doctoral research focused on the novels of Anita Desai and Shashi Deshpande. Her current research interests span Romantic literature, Postcolonial Studies, Literary Theory and Criticism, and Women’s Studies. She has published widely in national and international journals of repute.
